About the society
North East Students' Group of Janki Devi Memorial College aims to bring about inclusivity of the North East students in the college and a platform to showcase variou cultures and aspects of the North Eastern part of India. It is an interactive society for students where events and activities such as the annual North East fest and competitions are organized by the society to widen the knowledge and hear perspectives from the North East part of India.
History
The society was founded in 2013, with the initiative of the Northeastern students of the Janki Devi Memorial College. Since then, the society has actively organized several exciting events both at inter and intra-college level. The students of our Society also participated in the various competitions and the cultural events organized by fellow North East cells of colleges in Delhi. Our society also organize its annual North East fest i.e., 'PANORAMA', every year to present the various cultures along with the diversities of the North East. In addition to the cultural program and competitions we also hold seminars and panel discussion to engage with the students, hear perspectives from the North East and provide an understanding beyond the stigma and exotic facade usually associated with the region.
